Ever since I can remember, I've had an obsession with planes and flying. I at many times in my life wanted to be a flight attendant or a pilot...(although apparently my motivation and drive was not there) and in the summer of 2001 I was a step away from joining the Air Force (unbeknownst to anyone in my family). I had taken all the entrance exams and physical testing, I just needed to do the official "sign my life away" and I didn't do it. I do not recall why, I still have all my email correspondences with Sgt.Williams in Tempe but none of them state exactly what reason I gave for not joining. I guess the good Lord had something better in mind for me - which of course are my 3 little men.
Anyway, so we went to the "Thunder in the Desert" Air Show with my Dad on Saturday at Luke Air Force base. It's a day full of airshow planes doing insanely crazy stuff and it ends with The Thunderbirds flying and you can tour and look at many old war planes and fighter planes. We saw the Blue Angels a few years ago when my Mom was here. Watching the show gives me goosebumps - something just totally fascinates me about the way these men and women fly these planes as well as the crowds chanting God Bless America and so on. It truly is amazing - the country we live in and the men and women who make it possible for us to live so freely. Breathtaking.
The boys loved it this year. 2 years ago we went when Quinn was just a week or so old while my Mom was here and I think Konnor and Hunter peed their pants and had their heads in our laps the whole time. It was fun to see their excitement this year!
