Frank Caliend0
Jay Bell
Just two fun tidbits to add to the weekend. Konnor's soccer team played Frank Caliendo's son's team, and kicked their little booties might I add :) Although I had no idea who the guy was, Sanjog and many others informed me, I did my research, and now can honestly say I do really recognize the guy. He's a comedian/impressionist famous for his George Bush and John Madden impressions I believe?? Nonetheless, a super talented and funny man.
Today in church was Jay Bell day at our church. He played Major League Baseball for 18 years and was a Christian throughout his entire career. He was with the Diamondbacks for several years at the end of his career - scored the winning run of the 2001 World Series. He gave a great testimony of his Christian background and life as a Christian playing in the Big Leagues. A very down to earth, respectful man.
Oh the fame :) I used to say I was never star struck - but these two were pretty cool! Pretty cool to say my 5 year old scored against a famous man's child! The kid was rather large - and after the game Konnor said something to the effect of "it was really hard to get the ball past that big guy but I finally got one by him!" And yes, he sure did! Right through the kid's legs!
