Normally, I don't post photos of myself - mainly b/c I'm always the photographer! So, for those of you always commenting on me not being in the pictures, here ya go! Thanks to Quinn, I had to join in on the Santa fun at the zoo Saturday. Konnor and Hunter hopped right up but Quinn wasn't so sure. I haven't ordered the photos yet - so of course, they have their copyright stamp all over them!
Anyway, so we've had a fun week/weekend. I had the kids all of last week and this weekend - as Konnor tells me, "I'm pretty lucky!" Yes, of course, I am. We had a lot of fun. Went to the Christmas concert at church Thursday night, had pizza, movie and pazookie's on Friday night - and hit up the zoo on Saturday b/c the weather was perfect in every way. We invited some friends along - and a fun day was had by all. They had a Fisher-Price event going on so the kids got some free toys, a new Discovery park had opened that day, the "Little People" characters were there, Santa was there, arts and crafts, and they got to dig through a compost pile of dirt and leaves to find worms! They had a blast. I will post more pictures later when I get them uploaded.
Today was a typical Sunday. I got up and ran a few miles, hiked up S.Mountain with a friend - and then we were off to get Konnor's haircut, church, had donuts and McDonald's afterwards, cartoons and naps in the late afternoon, and tacos, bath, books and bedtime! I love the days where nothing is planned - it's just go with the flow.
No surprise to anyone, my phone got destroyed by water again. However, this time I can't blame it on the kids. I did it. I had filled the washer up with the kids's clothes - was downstairs waiting for them to get undressed for their bath - they undressed, put their clothes on the coffee table - I went to grab the stash of dirty clothes to put in the washer and as I dropped them in I heard a big "plop!" I knew right away it was my phone. I. had. done. it. again. Such an irresponsible cell phone carrier I am! This happens at least once a year - my first one fell in the water over 6 years ago when Steph and I were babysitting a little boy that lives here that used to be our neighbor back in Iowa. He was talking to my Uncle Pete (he used to ride along with him the truck!) - Jaren, was his name, was using the restroom while talking to Pete at the same time and both Steph and I heard a very subtle "Uh OH!" I have probably lost a phone to the water at least once a year since then. Go figure. You'd think I'd learn.
Nonetheless, I am now phoneless other than the good old landline I pay for but never gets used - and I'm feeling totally helpless and lost. I hope to be back in the cellular world by late tomorrow :)
